SJWC is in the process of building a diverse and international Board of Directors. The board will consist of members from Korea, Canada, and the United States, each bringing governance expertise, academic credibility, and policy relevance to the organization.
Canadian Director – To provide insight on Ontario’s academic and public service environment through leadership experience in higher education and government relations.
Korean Director – Senior advisor with extensive experience in national ministries and universities, contributing to Korea–Canada institutional cooperation and knowledge transfer.
U.S. Director – To contribute expertise in global governance, comparative policy studies, and international research funding mechanisms.
As appointments are finalized, photos, short bios, and institutional affiliations will be added, highlighting professional backgrounds in governance, academia, and public service careers.
SJWC was established to meet the growing demand for structured, professional exchange between Canada, Korea, and the global community. While formally incorporated in Canada in 2025, the Centre is rooted in more than a decade of academic collaboration, policy dialogue, and faculty exchange programs carried out by its founding members and institutional partners.
Our origins lie in initiatives that began well before the Centre’s incorporation—seminars, delegation visits, and research partnerships that highlighted the need for a permanent platform. Drawing on these experiences, SJWC was founded to serve as a sustainable hub for cross-border education, governance training, and public sector cooperation.
Key Milestones:
Pre-2025 – Founding members engaged in academic partnerships, delegation exchanges, and international conferences across Canada and Korea
2025 – Formal incorporation in Ontario as a registered non-profit, building on years of preparatory work
2025 – Launch of the first pilot program in academic exchange and leadership development
2026 and beyond – Expansion of MOUs, policy briefs, and institutional cooperation projects with global partners
Today, SJWC stands as a trusted bridge between Canada and partner countries, committed to advancing knowledge sharing, professional development, and public service excellence.
SJWC operates under non-profit registration in Ontario, Canada, and is committed to transparency and accountability for donors, partners, and participants.
